Possible Press Release
WANTED (written in capital letters, black and white horizontal stripes).
An image placed in the centre of the page of that "Britain wants you!" guy but instead it says "We want you" from City of Bath College, with the man pointing outwards towards the viewer/public.
Information.
City of Bath College have decided to donate old garments to a independent company. Instead of asking people to plunge into their pockets and donate financially, we're asking you to go through your wardrobe and find any old clothing you no-longer wear, use or want. This would be greatly appreciated, just bring them in and then leave them in 'The Crib' to support the college's "Dump DaY".
Your old garments will either be re-cycled or re-used in some way shape or form. City of Bath College will be working in connection with Islamic Relief.
Islamic Relief is an international aid and developed charity. They are a non-governmental organisation that promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with communities. They will collect what ever is donated, be it big or small.
Being as City of Bath college is a welcoming College and prides itself on it's students, high standard of education and it facilities being to the highest of quality and cleanliness we want you to feel at home, do not feel timid if you wish to donate... Just come in and leave it in 'The Crib'.

Activity/Event
Wednesday3RD.NOV, The bags from Islamic relief are going to arrive!! (on monday8TH.NOV).. so now i can sit here and calm my thoughts.
I rang Faud from Islamic Relief at 11.40, the phone call lasted no more than 5 minutes... i'm hopefully going to hold the event on Tuesday 16th break until lunch and Thursday 18th again break until lunch. I just need to e-mail Faud the College address, and comfirm things with Rob and then that will be that?!...
Now i am just left sat here thinking 'i hope this works!' because there is really nothing more i can do??

Concerns
Had a meeting with Rob this morning.
I begging to feel so discouraged because the company i have had correspondence with haven't e-mailed me back in a while and it's making me worried. so this is one of the "issues" i brought up in the meeting with Rob earlier today.
I wrote up a general outlined list of what needed to be discussed;
1) Time frame; Length of project
Friday 22nd -> I need to get back to Rob with confirmation. This needs to be done in order to for it to be put into the 'news flash', a system where the members of staff will get information on all the activities and events being held in and around the college and are then able to pass this information on to students.
2) Poster; Any queries, rules and regulations that may need to be taken into account
I wrote myself a reminder.
"DO POSTER JADINE, BEFORE THE 27TH, HAND IN ON THE 22ND THEN A CAN ASK FOR ADVICE AND SEE IF ANY ALTERATIONS MAY NEED TO BE MADE".
That was my biggest worry, weather it would be informative enough, eye catching enough, and fit the colleges' criteria and colour scheme well enough. so when i had my last meting with Rob he let me know that i may aswell just do my own thing and make a poster that is totally different. (but then i thought that i didn't want to get into trouble, but as it was Rob himself telling me this i took it as gospel and just done it).
3) Company not Communicating: Existing effects (remain the same or to be altered); Should i stick with the present company and chase them up or change to another.
I e-mailed Islamic Relief, they had until then end of my college day to e-mail respond otherwise i was going to have to change companies. Being as i didn't really want to do that i gave them a two more days and they came through! e-mailed me back, organised my event for the 4th of November 2010.
4) General ideas; reduce the planning subject to availability.
Places in Bath (instead of using Islamic Relief)
-> cancer research
-> St. Peters Hospice
-> Oxfam

Introduction
Okay so we had four meetings with different companies to then allow us to make a refined decision as to which company we each as individuals wanted to work with.
ScrapStore,
Located in Bristol this is a broad company they supply schools, colleges, child minders, and the general public (to a limit) with "Scrap" that is no-longer needed or being used from big company and large establishments. The Scrap Store will accept anything, although there are restrictions; no sharp objects or toxic chemicals.
City of Bath College,
Well i guess this one is all in the name :), working with my college to create a proposal and illustrate and then present it to the designated member of staff. Then to follow up this with interaction of some sort weather it be by correspondence(be it a formal letter or e-mailing), meetings but all of this needs to be recorded.
Oxfam,
With this company they proposed that selected students will be selected to work not just in conjunction with there company but also as an associate within their store (in Bath town centre).. only thing is i thought that didn't make sense being as everyone wanted to work with is company so by the time i would have done all that ground work and if they declined my proposal i would then need to find another company and do all this again?? i wasn't up for that so i just worked with the college.. i thought at least that way if anything needed to be chased up or confirmed it would be easier to find or contact that said member of staff.

okay so i think this will be the most shortest paragraph! when they came into the college they didn't grab my attention, they handed the group a handfull of assorted panflets and leaflets. And then talk at us then realised that it wasn't sinking they then tried to interact with us and spark upa "discussion" which by by that point the whole group had fallen into complete silence. i was almost falling asleep..

First.Post
okay so, for this Interaction project I've been rather nervous, constantly been checking to see if what i have been doing is correct and to see if what i intend to do is also correct..
i needed to make a decision as to which "contractors" or "company" i wanted to work with, i chose City of Bath college in the end. I had to set up my e-mailing account so's to keep regular correspondence with a woman called Lynn Sragg.
draw up planning ideas and write 'mock' letters for Lynne and Islamic Relief.
The company i chose to work with was called Islamic Relief, this business is an international company aid and development which aims to alleviate the suffering of the world's poorest people. It is an independent Non-governmental organisation founded in the UK in 1984by Dr. Hany El Banna. And as well as responding to disasters and emergencies, Islamic promotes sustainable economic and social development by working in local communities.
I also wanted to find out whether the company was a legal and identified business, i done this by checking if they had a registered charity number (328158).
I came across this company when in my local community in passing i noticed one of there disposing garments and footwear bins on Stapleton Rd, Bristol. I then researched the company and the ethics of there business even further on 'google'. Took my initial research to my meeting with Lynne Scragg who then referred me to Rob haze. This was done because Rob deals us students and the organisation of any activity or event going on in, with or working in conjunction with the college.
They have many sources for there business across the border.
I also wrote a proposal letter entailing:
Dear Lynne Scragg,
I am writing to inform you of my successes so far, my problems I have encountered and also to ask for your opinion and consent on my intentions.
I wold like for the college to work in conjunction with a business/company to provide clothing and shoes bins. I feel our college would thoroughly benefit from this. i got this idea from my own experiences...
Fashion trends tend to change i thought wouldn't it be easier to have a clothes bin accessible on the college grounds where we could dispose of our unwanted garments and footwear. It would work kind of hand in hand what with Islamic Relief. The college would support a company, and the company would supply us with a bin. By us using their bin services we are supporting their cause by donating our old garments and footwear.
Over the years students will enter and exit through those college doors so there would be a constnt flow of clothes! i thought "seasons and fashion wear are constantly changing so why not recycle my old clothes as apposed to discarding them?" Even though we have the option of donating them to a charity (independantly) it's not really the "done thing" between teenagers, which lead me onto my next suggestion.
Why not have a "Dump DaY", this is where all the students and staff bring a;; umwanted garments and footwear (after being asked if they were washed, or reasonably clean) and leave them in the hive. Volunteered students will help move them from the hive in to the car park where a hired van would take and donate the clothes to an indpendant organization.
I'd really feel obligated to have feedback of your thoughts.

Now, i understand that maybe just maybe the smiley face was inappropriate but that is just me.. one of those many things that i do.
so after handing over my letter and my research and taking into consideration that i couldn't go forward and proceed to contact the company of my choice without the consent from Lynne (at the time) i could only do so much. So just to make sure i had time to talk and have a one-to-one session with another one of my teachers Belinda, so we sat and looked at other possible ways to interpret my ideas taking into consideration the time frame, financial issues and what ever else that came into the equation.

i enjoyed this so much because the sheet was like a fully illustrated mind map vision of my trail of thought :), and yes even though it was unstructured it was still readable and could be fully understood with ease.
By this point i had also written a 'placebo' or rather 'mok' letter to my favourite and potential business partner.
